Attribute maintenance

It’s a rainy day and we had too much coffee….

So we updated several hundred products with new „species“ attributes, searchable and comparable values for „length“ and „usable length“. The new comparable „maximum diameter“ attribute. Images that got broken or gone missing. More categories allow dynmic filtering, …

A ton of boring cleanup work, so you can make the most out of the advanced search, the ability to dynamically filter the product lists in large categories and to select products to compare them side by side.

Size category rules

We also defined objective rules for our 5 size categories.
Based on usable length with exceptions for unusual and extreme knots.
Tiny =  usable length 13cm or less and no excessive knots
Mini = usable length 17cm or less and no unusualy thickness
Regular = usable length 26cm or less and <8cm thickness
Large = usable length 40cm or less and <9cm thickness
Extra Large = everything larger
We do not apply the same rules within the „Canines“ and „Equines“ category. Simply because horses are usually quite large already and it would lead to very biased subcategories of Horses and of Canines

Within the canines, the medium sizes is everything from 16-20cm of usable length.
Within the equines, the medium sizes is everything from 20-29cm of usable length.

Limitations

Sadly the software does not allow selecting ranges of numerical values when searching for size values or when using the dynamic filters. That feature is only supported for the attribute type „price“. Sorry. We’re keeping our eyes open for a plugin that adds this missing feature.

New FurryStyle Unicorn in regular size

(Text copied from the mail on the FurryStyle product announcement mailing list, where it was announced 2 days in advance.)

Last year FurryStyle introduced the Tiny Unicorn and the Mini Unicorn at Eurofurence.
But if there’s a tiny and a mini variant,  you may have wondered, where the normal „Unicorn“ without any of these additions is.

… well, FurryStyle had to work on it for a while. Yes, there were also some setbacks, due to the distinctive wrinkles.

The result is a unicorn stallion in a pleasant and not exaggerated size with a silky surface, on which the important lubricant holds particularly well.

The length as a regular toy is 24cm of which 22cm are usable.

The diameter after the 5cm Flare rises up to 4.5cm. The corresponding circumferences are 16cm and 15cm.

For comparison: 17cm are available on the Mini Unicorn and 14cm on the Tiny Unicorn.


The price of 56eur corresponds to the other FurryStyle toys of this size like the Foxcoon or Duke II.

New manufacturer: Horny Ram

We are proud to present a new manufacturer in our lineup of toys:


Horny Ram

As a manufacturer they are quite new and there is only a single toy to start out with. Of cause this will be expanded over time. In fact, we actually planned for two toys but the mold of the second one broke and it had to be postponed.

The toy is: Ekino the Ram

The Ekinio (Medium)

Obviously it is an adult elk and adds more variety to the deers and the many, many horses.
Of the 26cm of length, 13cm are usable. Making this a regular sized toy in the very loosely defined „equines“ category in our new category system.

New attribute: Species

With the new store categories, we have started to add a new product attribute for drilldown and searching.
You can now select from a fixed list of species. Given that allowing multiple species for a single item and that synonyms are not possible, this is only a very broad categorisation.
The intent is to use it in categories like „dildos by size“ and „dildos by manufacturer“ to further restrict the visible toys but also to easily find e.g. deer in the category of „roughly equine species of medium size“

At this point only few toys have this attribute already set but we are adding it to more toys one at a time. This is a very time consuming process and daily shop operation, stock management as well as new toys and manufacturers have a higher priority. So it will take some time until all toys have their species assigned to them.

New categories

Over the years our selection of toys has grown…. a lot.
So after all this time we have taken it upon ourself to redesign the categories.
You can now start browsing either

by manufactuer

or species

or size you are looking for.

From there you can drill down further using multiple selection values.
Sadly the shop system does not allow us to add the numerical values like „usable length“ or „knot diameter“ to the automatic drill down navigation. We’ll see about ways to add that ability outself at a later time.
